Akagawa Station (赤川駅 Akagawa-eki?) is a railway station on the JR East Ōminato Line located in the city of Mutsu, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. It is 53.2 rail kilometers from the terminus of the Ōminato Line at Noheji Station.

History

Akagawa Station was opened on September 25, 1921 as Tanabu Station (田名部駅 Tanabu-eki?) on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR). It was renamed to its present name on December 1, 1941. All freight operations were discontinued as of March 15, 1972, after which time the station was unattended. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (the successor to the JGR) on April 1, 1987, it came under the operational control of JR East.

Akagawa Station has a single side platform serving bidirectional traffic. The station is unmanned, and has no station building, but only a simple rain shelter on the platform.
